Sleepy Hollow ..A little break from thesis

I'm taking a character design class with Robert Dress(http://robertdress.blogspot.com/), who is extremely talented and a super cool guy. Ive learned so much in his class about what makes a character unique and unforgettable. As well as composition and dissecting a scene, and what elements make it great.
We have had an ongoing assignment revolving around the legend of sleepy hollow. A character layout, a map of sleepy hollow, and a scene from the story. I'm currently working on my scene, which portrays Ichabod about to meet his demise at the hands of the headless horseman. I handed in the inked and colored version to Rob and will post it as soon as I get it back. For now, below is the the thumbnail (4 field), rough drawing of the scene (12 field), and some other doodles I made while working on the piece.
If you seem to be confused.. The form of the headless horseman and his horse are on the horizon line, as he is throwing his head at Ichabod. Lastly, I took the photographs over a Halloween table cloth.. I thought it fitting.

These are the characters for my thesis film, "Lost in Thought". A young kid gets lost in his own wild and crazy day dreams while at school.

Figure Drawing 2010

These are my favorite drawings from the 09-10' year. I found lots of errors after seeing these drawings online, but you learn from your mistakes right?

I was going to resize that gigantic foot in photoshop, but then it would be a fake!

The forward leg of the model on the right is way too long, looks interesting though.

I love this one very much. I think it is a great pose and has a lot of

logo design

I was asked by and old friend of mine to create the logo for his production company "Triton Kings Productions". Below are the steps in which I took to create the design:

This was the first thought I had for the logo. But I felt it was too wide, or just too much going on. So I went back to paper and drew something a little more compact, I then blew it up and drew a new design from that.

Here, I just messed around with different color schemes to see what looked good.
I took apart all the pieces and visualized some colors in my head and came up with the cyan and red.

After showing what I had to Nate, he chose these colors he wanted. I added the sparkles and the letters with a 'bastarda-k' font.
Finally, Nate and I went back and made a few more tweaks. Changed the stars, the glow, and the letters from Triton Kings Entertainment to TKProductions!

day 1

Ok, so i think its time to get started with one of these. everyone's got one, time to get with it.

i dont say much, but my drawings do! i figured if im going to make my first post, i should put up some pictures- my notebook seems to be better for doodles than notes haha. i cant take notes with a pencil, so all these are ink. a friend told me he likes to draw with a pen because you cant erase. it puts the pressure on. i found that to be true, although some of these lines i wish i could make dissapear.. but thats what computers are for right?  i made some backrounds for em as well. ill fix em up later. welcome to my blog! :D
